We all have that jewellery box filled with a collection of items we have received over the years.

Heirloom pieces are intrinsically valuable, because of the memories attached to them, but sometimes it’s nice to know what is the costume and what is ‘real’ jewellery amongst your collection.

As we go through your collection together, sorting between the two, Lisa may share a little about the history of your jewellery pieces, by perhaps explaining how they would have been worn, what they signified, or what they may have cost at the time of purchase and why particular gemstones were chosen at that moment in history.

  • Rare Antique Old Cut Diamond

    In this exiting discovery, we identified that this was not a worthless and damaged diamond as the owner had always thought, but instead an older cut of diamond, rarer, predating modern brilliant cuts and cut by hand in candlelight to create a unique and very valuable diamond!

    The owner of this piece was astounded to learn that this ball pendant opens to create a cross!

    The owner of this piece was thrilled to learn the pearls where rare natural pearls and we worked together to sell the necklace at auction.

Keep?

Should you wish to keep a valuable item in your collection, please be aware, that in the event of a jewellery insurance claim, you may need to prove to prove your ownership. This is particularly relevant for inherited and gifted jewellery, as there is generally no paperwork to show the change in ownership, indeed, no paperwork may exist to show the item ever existed at all!

To safegaurd your jewellery, Lisa can produce valuation reports (at an additional cost) so you can prove your ownership and determine the current value to insure for. Learn more about valuing here.

Sell?

If an item is not to your taste, Lisa can offer advice on selling and in some cases may purchase directly from you.

Generally, if you do wish to sell via an auction house, the auction house will require a valuation, which Lisa can assist with.

Gift / Estate?

If you’d like to ensure an equitable division of your collection, valuations may assist, and have the added benefit of being able to prove changes in ownership required by insurance companies. Lisa offers specific valuation packages for Estates.
